Tramscape Tramway

Strausberg,
Germany : 13th April 1998
Strausberg, a small town to the east of
Berlin has its own one-line single track tramway which links into the
Berlin regional rail (S-Bahn) network at "Strausberg" station, the
first of three stations serving the town, and runs to Lustgarten in
the town centre. The line continued through Grosse Strasse until
1970, when it was cut back to its present terminus, and plans exist
to restore the route if scarce funds become forthcoming.
The two two-axle trams operating the service on a quiet Easter Monday
were 5 and 7. Built in Berlin in 1969, both were former Berlin trams,
with 5 arriving at Strausberg in 1981 and 7 in 1986, having earlier
moved from Berlin to Woltersdorf in
1981.
