In 1977 Hannover was still operating some obsolete rolling stock. 2-axle car 203 dated from a batch delivered from the local Hannoversche Waggonbau between 1929 and 1930. The trailers were delivered from the same supplier at the same time.

In the early 1950s Hannover took delivery of prototype Grossraumwagen trams and trailers from Duewag, with the largest production set delivered jointly by Duewag and LHB (a practice which was to continue) between 1956 and 1958
