Dortmund,
Germany : 29-30th March and 2nd April, 1995
Views in central Dortmund
plus the routes to Aplerbeck and Grevel. The single track route in
Aplerbeck has been fitted with high-level platforms and several tram
stops resited and renamed. The Grevel route features a new tram / bus
interchange at Schulte Rodding and a new stub terminus at Grevel as
part of an overall route upgrading. This series highlights the
central stops at Reinoldikirche, viewed from Bruderweg, and Ostentor
before covering sections of the routes to Hombruch, Westfalenstadion
and Westerfilde where big changes will, are about to and have taken
place respectively. The construction work for the tunnel under Hohe
Strasse from Stadtgarten to Polizeipraesidium, for service from June
1996, and the upgrading of the alignment to Westfalenstadion is
illustrated. The single track route in the north of the city to
Brambauer, construction work for the installation of high-level
platforms between Huckarde and Westerfilde and the new, re-sited
Westerfilde terminus are featured. Other photos feature locations on
the eastern route towards Wickede and the construction of a new tram
stop in central Dortmund on Kampstrasse near
Westentor.
